I am very excited to attend TCEA in Austin, TX next week! I have never been to Texas before, but I have heard a lot of great things. So, before we get to business, if anyone wants to show me around or has any recommendations, I am all ears!
As most of you know, TCEA is one of the largest school technology events in the US. Having said that, there will be plenty of booths to visit and sessions to attend. Most notably booth Glogster EDU booth # 1657 and session titled Glogster EDU: Transform Your Classroom into a Virtual Learning Environment presented by yours truly!
We will be raffling off a Teacher Premium License ($99 value) and a School License ($800 value!!) at the booth, so make sure you stop by to enter the giveaway.
Here’s more info on my session:
Glogster EDU: Transform Your Classroom into a Virtual Learning Environment
Wednesday, February 8 at 10:30AM -11:30AM , Room 3
Transform “old school” poster projects into beautiful multimedia digital posters (Glogs) using today’s technology that will engage and motivate students of all learning styles.
These are some of the sessions I’m planning on attending:
1. Tuesday, February 7: “Energize Your Classroom with Web Tools” presented by Robyn Hrivnatz and Sarah Bauguss on at 1:30 PM in Room 9B.
Tired of the same old poster projects, book reports, and classroom newsletters? Move beyond the chalkboard and reinvent your classroom with Glogster, Animoto, and Edmodo.
2. Wednesday, February 8: “Portfolios Using Glogster and iPod Touch” presented by Mary Carole Strother at 8:00 AM in Room 16B.
Learn how 5th grade students at our school created digital portfolios using Glogster to document their science learning. We will share our young digitial scientists wiki filled helpful resources including; setting up student glogster accounts, how to manage student portfolios, portfolio design lesson plans, and actual student science portfolios.
3. Thursday, February 9: “2011 ISTE Technology Innovation Award” presented by Mary Carole Strother at 12:00 PM in Room 11AB.
Join us as we share our 2011 ISTE Technology Innovation Award winning wiki, Adventures with Maybelle. This collaborative project features Web 2.0 tools like Glogster, Blabberize, VoiceThread, Mixbook, QR codes, Animoto, Vokis, and Photobabble. We will share videos and projects from our Adventures with Maybelle Literacy and Multimedia Festival.
Check out the Glog for a full list of all Glogster EDU-related sessions. We’ll be giving away a Teacher Premium License at each of these, too!
