Glogster EDU Webinars

Each month, the Glogster EDU team holds a series of free Webinars. Registration is open to everyone, but only the first 100 attendees are admitted, so show up a few minutes early to secure your spot.

1. Getting Started with Glogster EDU Premium

Brian and Mike from the Glogster EDU Team will guide you through the basics of Glogster EDU Premium: creating Glogs, adding and managing student accounts, class administration, and “the 3 P’s”: projects, presentations, and portfolios. You’ll also have the opportunity to ask questions. If you’re new to Glogster EDU or just need to brush up on your skills, this is the Webinar for you!

2. Using Glogster EDU for Project-Based Learning

Glogster EDU + PBL = A++! Project-based learning is more than just “doing projects.” Glogster EDU makes effective PBL easy. Help your students develop inquiry, research, time management, communication, presentation, leadership, and reflection skills on a fun and engaging platform. Jim from the Glogster EDU Team will show you how to start a Glog project, create a template, assign it to the class, monitor progress, and provide feedback with Glogster EDU Premium. He’ll also provide you with plenty of example Glogs and lesson plans to get you started.

5. ISTE Technology Innovation Award winning project, Maybelle the Cockroach

6. Navigate Our Digital World Through Glogster EDU Eyes & Make Connections to CCSS (Common Core State Standards)

I’m excited to announce that the Glogster EDU team is starting up a series of regular Webinars. December’s Webinar topic is School and District Licenses. 

Learn how to use Glogster EDU to collaborate with your entire school or district, so ALL your teachers and students can get inspired! With a School or District License, your learners can interact with all the teachers in their community using a single student account. Jim, Brian, and Mike will guide you through all the basics of School and District Premium Licenses:  teacher invitations, student administration, the “3 P’s” (Projects, Presentations, and Portfolios), and more.

If you’ve been thinking about sharing Glogster EDU with your school or district or are just curious about how it works, please stop in! The Webinars usually last about an hour, and you’ll have the opportunity to ask questions at the end.

I have written several posts about Glogster EDU on my own blog, so I am  thrilled to be asked to contribute as a guest blogger. After brainstorming for a while and searching through Glogster EDU’s website for writing ideas, I came across some fabulous Glogs that contain web tech tools for teachers. I was so inspired by the resources that these Glogs contain that I decided it would be a great subject for my first guest blog contribution. I found many Web 2.0 websites for teaching and learning that I have never heard of, and some that I have heard of but never have used.

Glogster EDU is often promoted as a tool for students to create Glogs, or interactive posters, for assignments or projects. The following top 10 Glogs show how Glogster EDU can also be used by educators to create interactive posters for professional development. Glogs can be created for many purposes, and these 10 Glogs show off a few of the infinite possibilities as well as offer great learning experiences for teachers. I found these Glogs in the public technology categories section of Glogster EDU.
