Celebrating an iPad App Milestone

Four months after we released our Glogster iPad application, we have hit a major milestone: 250,000 downloads! That means that a quarter of a million students and teachers worldwide are glogging on the go, carrying the entire Glogpedia library with them on their devices and creating glogs the moment that inspiration hits. We want to thank all of you, not just for contributing to this significant number, but also for your valuable feedback in the early stages of the app’s continued development. We’ve loved hearing stories and seeing images of what you and your learners can achieve with our tool, and we’ve been inspired by your ideas for future updates. In so many ways, we couldn’t have achieved this without you, and we’re proud that Glogster for iOS has found a home in so many learning spaces around the world.

Since the long-awaited release, users have been treated to several exciting new features in the updates, so make sure you’re running the latest version of the app to enable even more enjoyable glogging. Our most recent updates have included a ‘favourites’ function, allowing users to make a personalised and easily accessible list of the glogs that inspire them most, and expanding the ‘copy’ function to be applicable to all of a user’s saved glogs, meaning that several versions of a similar glog can be made effortlessly. We’ve also added the option to sign up or sign in via Google by pairing your Glogster account with an existing Google account. It’s easy to see that the app has been evolving ever since its conception, and we hope you’re as excited as we are to see where it goes from here!

It’s not just us getting excited either – blogger Joyce Valenza gave the application a glowing review, stating that “the interface is easy and elegant” and that “if you have iPads in your classroom or library, this app is a must download.” Meanwhile, educational technology consultant T.M. Payne blogs that “Glogster is a beautiful app… It totally changes the ballpark on that fall back task of ‘now make a poster kids’. They will actually really enjoy doing this with Glogster.” Alongside messages from countless educators on Twitter and Facebook, these reviews fill us with pride.

So to those of you who have started our mobile education journey with us, thank you for your enthusiasm and your inspiration. And for anyone who has yet to experiment with glogging on the go, this milestone marks the perfect time to join a community of 250,000 teachers and learners and expand your glogging abilities!
