System Update and Attachment Issues

As some of you may have noticed, the online Glogster platform is currently experiencing some temporary issues with attached files. This is due to a general system update in conjunction with the iPad application release and our ongoing mission to give users the most up-to-date and enjoyable Glogster experience possible.

While the end result of this update will be a faster and more stable experience, it does mean that for a short time the function allowing users to attach files to a glog via the paperclip icon on the top right of the canvas will not be available.

The Glogster team is aware of this issue, and is taking it very seriously. We are working to resolve it as a matter of top priority, meaning that the attachment feature will be restored – and your entire Glogster experience improved – within a month. We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused, and reassure you that your attached files are still on the system and linked to your glogs, and will be once again accessible as soon as the system issues have been resolved.

We thank you for your patience and understanding while we work on restoring the attachment function, and hope that you continue to enjoy your updated Glogster experience.

  1. I wonder if there is a problem with the share/embed feature of Glogster. My students tried to embed the HTML code into their electronic portfolios. What happens is it seems to work, but what shows up is a template, not their personal glog. Please help! I hope this feature is included in the educators version, which I recently paid for.

    • There is a temporary issue with the embed feature, which we are working on as a matter of high priority. Once this is fixed, your embedded glogs will be navigable as normal.

  2. I’m having difficulties with the website – it will not connect no matter the type of connection (school connection & cell phone were not working) & my students were supposed to present their glogs today in class. After paying twice as much for the service as I did last year, I had hoped that connection problems would be a thing of the past. Unfortunately, connection dropped out yesterday afternoon and has not returned!

    • Hi Holly,

Apologies for your frustrating experience – on Tuesday we experienced some rare service interruption due to a suspected malicious attack on our server. Our third party service provider temporarily suspended the server in order to avoid any content being lost. The server was running again as normal within a few hours.

  3. All the Glogs we were already using with attachments were affected by this – we have to go back and add them all back or it is something that can be fixed?

    • Hi Kelly, don’t worry! Although attachments are currently not accessible, they are all still stored in our database and linked to the blogs they were attached to. As soon as this issue has been completely resolved, they will be back on your glogs!
